Our Story
The Charlie Glazer Foundation, Inc. was established on the premise that for some children who suffer from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) a cure is out of reach. There exists many charities that are searching for a cure and we are hopeful that they will succeed. However, our purpose is to improve the lives of those children and their families who suffer from MD by providing them with support and necessary amenities.
Charlie's family was struggling to fund the construction of an addition to their home that would not only provide essential amenities for Charlie with muscular dystrophy, but also create a comfortable environment where he can live, learn, and play without hindrance. Charlie and other children with MD will require a new entrance to their home, a bedroom big enough to accommodate a hospital bed, enough space in their room to navigate in a wheel chair, and a handicapped accessible bathroom. Furthermore, coordinating the transportation of a handicapped child in any of nature’s elements, be it snow, sleet, rain, or heat, can be a cumbersome task at best. From first-handedly dealing with these hard situations, The Charlie Glazer Foundation, Inc. was established to help children with MD and their families by offering the support and necessary amenities to live a more adequate and adaptable lifestyle through the donation of goods and/or services. |
